"Fashion has always been in my blood. Growing up, I discovered a natural talent for creating beautiful clothing. As a teenager, I would design and make dresses for my younger sister with my mom’s help, dreaming of one day becoming a model and a fashion designer. But where I grew up, those dreams were difficult to pursue, and I faced many cultural and societal barriers.
When I immigrated to Canada in my early 20s, it was a fresh start. I threw myself into my studies, earned a business degree, and went on to work in marketing for companies of all sizes, including large retailers. Yet, despite my professional success, I felt unfulfilled. The creative spark that fueled my love for fashion was still burning inside me, and I realized that working for others wasn’t enough—I needed to build something of my own.
The turning point came when I noticed a gap in the market for women like me—women who wanted to express their style through a mix of high-end, low-end, classic, and emerging designers without breaking the bank. Inspired by the compliments I often received on my outfits, I knew there was a demand for curated, accessible luxury fashion. That’s when I decided to combine my passion with my experience in e-commerce and online marketing to create shopUNIQUES.com.
Today, my business is more than just a career—it’s a fulfillment of a lifelong dream. I’ve had the privilege of seeing my customers light up when they find the perfect piece that resonates with their style and values. My vision is to redefine how women experience luxury fashion.
